Smore’s & Stargazing Night

Connect with the Night Sky in new ways!

Our guides are passionate about the night sky and helping you connect to it in a meaningful way. Through stories we learn about the stars, with a telescope we can truly see them, and through the lens of a camera we are able to capture them.

Itinerary

Meeting

We’ll begin the night meeting at the Paradox Adventures Desk within Redcliffs Lodge. We will do a short introduction of ourselves and what we have planned for the night. From there we will have a short 15 minute walk to our viewing site.

Campfire and S’mores

While the final moments of daylight fade away we will sit around the campfire making our s’mores, telling stories, and pointing out things as they make their appearance in the night sky.

Telescope and Astro Photography

After we finish our S’mores we will transition from stories of the stars to seeing them with modern tools. Our guides will show various Nebulae, Galaxies, and Star Clusters through our large telescopes as well as instruct guests on basic astro-photography techniques.

What if it’s cloudy?

Since these tours are specifically for Astrophotography and stargazing, we need relatively clear skies!

If the forecast calls for partly cloudy skies we will depart and hope the clouds behave. Even with partly cloudy covered skies we can still capture some great images and learn Astrophotography techniques.

If the sky is full of heavy clouds or the weather becomes dangerous, we will try to work with you and reschedule your adventure, cancel your tour, or give you an option to cancel depending on the circumstances. In the case of cancellation due to weather a 100% refund is issued.

Do you provide transportation?

At this time we do not provide transportation. We meet all guests at the Paradox Adventures Desk within the lodge and walk to our viewing site from there.

What is the cancellation policy?

We try to provide a generous cancellation policy. We allow FULL refunds for any cancellations before 24 hours no questions asked. If the weather keeps us from departing on our adventure we will issue a FULL refund if we can’t reschedule.

If we decide to head out on our adventure, but for some reason the weather misbehaves and we get ZERO Astro photos, then we will issue a full refund as well.

Should I Tip?

Tips are not expected, but if after your tour you think you’re guide made the trip extra memorable, then of course tips are a great way to show appreciation!
